A senior woman has approached with a complaint against unidentified staff of a call centre for making incessant calls and using abusive language. The caller has annoyed her husband, also a senior officer by making calls on his mobile also.

The police station has registered an FIR and started investigation. As per the description of the case, it looks like a case of forgery where documents and personal information of the IAS officer have been forged to issue credit card. The card was then used without making payment and when the payment accumulated the call centre of the credit card started calling for recovery.
“The probe is on and all aspects are being investigated,” said a senior police official.

What is the case of woman IAS? 

The woman officer has complained that an executive from a call centre used to call her up on her mobile by different numbers. He represents a multi national bank and irritate by continuously asking why she had not paid her dues for a credit card issued to her by the bank. While all this he uses inappropriate language. 

“When my husband asked about the credit card, there was inconsistency in details provided, so he told them not to call again, since no credit card had been issued by that bank to me,” she said in the FIR.The woman IAS officer said that the call centre executive used multiple numbers to repeat his claim. “

When we approached Lucknow Police, the calls stopped, but in Dec-Jan period, the calling resumed on my husband's mobile number with a similar claim.” 

What may be the reason?

The police has registered case against an unidentified executive and investigating the case. 

The woman IAS officer though said that her personally information may have been misused to grab a credit card in her name. 

“It appears someone used my personal details and got a credit card issued by the bank and now its call centre is harassing us,” she said.
