Voting concluded in Rajasthan, largely peaceful barring few incidents

Barring few incidents of violence, the voting on 199 seats in Rajasthan concluded peacefully. The mandate of 5.25 crore voters of the state is captured in EVM machines, which will be unveiled on December 3, 2023.

According to chief electoral officer Praveen Gupta, over 68 percent voting was reported in the state till 5 pm.

The voting was peaceful across the state except reports of violent incidents in Bharatpur and Sikar districts.

In Kaman and Nagar assembly seats of Bharatpur, there were incidents of violence. At government school of Suket village in Nagar assembly segment, polling party had to run away following violent exchanges between two groups. They broke down the VVPAT machine. intervened to disperse the crowd. Polling remained for half an hour.

Similarly at Sawalar village of Kaman assembly segment, supporters of Congress candidate Zahida Khan scuffled with BSF personnel guarding the secondary school. Sajid Khan, son of Zahida Khan created ruckus following which security personnel has to open in air. The Mridul Kachhawa had to reach the spot. Polling remained suspended for 45 minutes.

In Bari assembly seat of Dholpur district, miscreants tried to capture booth in Khule ka Poora village. The two groups the engaged in exchange of firing and stone pelting. In the incident three people including driver of the magistrate got injured.

In Rajai Kalan village of Bari assembly, supporters of BSP candidate Jaswant Gurjar and BJP candidate Giriraj Singh Malinga collided and created ruckus. A case of firing was also reported in the village.

Apart from that, incidents of violence were reported in assembly segments of Saradarshahar, Fatehpur Shekhawati and Looni.
