IITian Baba Abhay Singh of Mahakumbh fame, was detained by Jaipur police. He was in possession of ganja. Police has filed FIR against him under NDPS Act.
He was later released on bail as the quantity of ganja was less.
According to police, someone reported that Abhay Singh had threatened to commit suicide on social media. Police tracked the location and caught him in a hotel.
Abhay Singh accepted that he might have made a call under the effect of ganja.
“Police should not file case for possession of ganja. If that is true then, police will have to arrest people, who visited kumbh and had ganja there,” he said.
Viral IIT Baba
The viral IIT Baba claims to have competed Masters degree in Aerospace engineering from IIT Mumbai. He also claims to have worked in an aircraft manufacturing company in Canada before returning to India after lockdown.
IITian Baba the joined Juna Akhada and was favourite of media during Kumbh. He had predicted defeat of Indian team against Pakistan in Champion's Trophy which turned out to be false.
Later in a live TV debate at the studio of TV channel, he was allegedly beaten up by religious leaders attending that debate.
