Vikramaditya Singh, Himachal Pradesh PWD minister and son of former chief minister Virbhadra Singh will have to pay an interim monthly maintenance of ₹4 lakh to his estranged wife Sudarshana Singh till the court decides the domestic violence case.
Family Court No.3 of Udaipur District Sessions Court pronounced an important decision on Friday 16 February, wherein it ordered a monthly maintenance of ₹ 4 lakh to be paid to the estranged wife of VIkramaditya Singh.
Vikramaditya Singh's wife Sudarshana Singh belongs to Chundawat Amer principality in Rajsamand district. She had filed a case against Vikramaditya Singh alleging domestic violence in October 2022.
Vikramaditya Singh, an MLA from Shimla rural, is a titular of the erstwhile princely state of Bushahr. He did his schooling from Bishop Cotton school Shimla before doing post graduation in History from Delhi University.
Vikramaditya's active state political journey started in 2013 and he associated with Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee. He was elected as Himachal Pradesh state youth congress president in year 2013 until the year 2017 when he was elected MLA from Shimla rural for the first time.
Sudarshana Singh had filed a criminal case under Section 12 of the Domestic Violence Act on 17 October 2022. The matter was also listed for hearing on November 17, 2022. The court had scheduled a hearing for serving the non-bailable warrant. Vikramaditya Singh and others have been accused in criminal cases.
According to counsel Bhanwar Singh Deora, both got married in 2019 at Jaipur. After marriage there had been some dispute between the couple. Since Covid-19 both are living separately and Sudarshana has filed a case against her husband alleging domestic violence.
What are the allegations against Vikramaditya Singh
Sudarshana Singh has accused Vikramaditya Singh of having a relationship with a woman from Chandigarh, Amreen.
She claimed that her husband had installed CCTV cameras in her room to keep an eye on her.
Sudarshana Singh has also accused mother-in-law Pratibha Singh, sister-in-law Aparajita and brother-in-law Angad Singh of domestic violence and harassment.
