A major disaster was narrowly averted on the Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express, all thanks to the quick thinking of the locomotive pilot. The train was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 24. Incidentally, PM Modi had come to Chittorgarh enroute from Udaipur to Jaipur on Monday.
While on its way to Jaipur, the vigilant driver spotted stones and rods deliberately placed on the tracks, which posed a serious derailment threat.
Fortunately, the driver acted swiftly, engaging the emergency brakes, preventing a catastrophic collision with the obstructing objects.
A video capturing this incident has gone viral on social media, highlighting the dangerous situation created by these obstructions. In the footage, a railway staff member can be seen removing the hazardous materials from the track.
This alarming incident unfolded around 09:55 am on Monday within the jurisdiction of the Bhilwara police station, near Gangarar in the Chittaurgarh district.
Responding to the situation, authorities, including DSC Ajmer, IPF Bhilwara, PWI Gangarar, local police, and GRP officials, visited the site.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has taken action by registering a case under the Railways Act.
