government is going to adopt this model wide after it was successfully implemented in Barmer, as part of Navo Barmer campaign.

of state for K K Vishnoi said that the model of giving away disability certificates at camps will be adopted in other parts of the state as well.

“Barmer has done a remarkable job to provide disability certificate on the spot at camps. We will replicate this model across the state,” Vishnoi said.

What Tina Dabi did?

Barmer collector Tina Dabi launched Navi Barmer campaign on October 1, 2024 aiming at bringing cleanliness and facilitation of government schemes to public through camps.

“It's a matter of great pleasure and satisfaction that our small steps have brought relief in the lives of disabled. Now such camps will be organised across the state. This will help the disabled population to get linked with all the government-run welfare schemes,” Dabi said.

In a month long camp, the Barmer district administration distributed 2,000 disability certificates and registered 7,000 disabled people. Collector Tina Dabi got every government office audited for identification of disabled people and got them registered and linked to all welfare schemes.

“For getting disability certificates, physically challenged people have to present before medical board at hospitals. Then the board decides and gives certificate on the basis of degree of disability. Here what we did was, we asked medical board to visit camps and deliver disability certificates on the spot,” Dabi said.

She said that such a small intervention saved time and efforts of thousands disabled people, who find it difficult it to wander for certificate which is their right.

Distributed equipment to disabled

Tina Dabi said that the administration identified disabled people, assessed their disabilities and provided them with the right support, equipment and gears which can help them lead a better life. The district got a special sanction of Rs 24.5 lakh, which was used to buy these equipment.
