Following the success of initiative – Maru Udaan – launched by Barmer collector Tina Dabi Rajasthan government has decided to replicate this initiative across the state naming it Rajasthan Maru Udaan from January 9, 2025.
The initiative, under the Beti Bacaho Beti Padhao scheme, will be implemented at district and panachyat level.
“District collectors will implement this scheme involving officials of all relevant departments. Collectors may involve NGOs and corporates to raise funds under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme. Officer of Women empowerment department will be the nodal officer, who will work under the guidance of district collectors of respective districts,” an order issued by Neetu Rajeshwar, additional director of women empowerment department says.
Various sessions to be held
The women empowerment department has fixed dates for organising dialogue session and workshops to raise awareness among women. Every district will organise sessions on mental health issues, physical health, digital literacy and cyber crime, vocational training, self defence and personal finance management among others. The workshops and sessions are scheduled to be organised by February next year.
Districts will also organise health camps for women where nutritionists and eye specialists will be invited to create awareness among women about importance of nutrition and will guide them for ensuring proper eye care.
“While women empowerment calendar released calendar for 11 workshops and sessions to be organised at district level, collectors will decide dates for workshops to be held at panchayat level,” said a senior women empowerment department official.
