Additional Director General (Crime) Dinesh MN and Jaipur police commissioner Biju George Joseph under whose jurisdiction the crime was committed, took the complete charge. Both officers are batch mates of 1995 batch.

Dinesh MN was called mid way from his annual leave from his home town Bengaluru to head the special investigation team (SIT) constituted to crackdown the murder case. With wide network of informers among Shekhawati gangs and his expertise in cracking blind cases, Dinesh MN was an apt officer to lead the team, which has almost the same officers who worked with MN during the encounter of another dreaded gangster Anand Pal. He continuously coordinated with senior police officers of Haryana and Delhi and exchanged information about the movement of murderers. He activated the network of informers and announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh each for information on the accused. Finally, with proper coordination and tight monitoring the two shooters were successfully nabbed along with one accomplice Udham Singh, who help them with all the logistical support.

The contribution of Biju George Joseph too is important. Since the incident, he had been on field leading from the front. His team immediately swung into action and cracked down the local network of the criminals. The arrest of Ramvir, close friend of Nitin Fauji was a major breakthrough in the case. Joseph collated all the information and intelligence his team gathered and shared it with SIT to corner the run away criminals. He was continuously in touch with SIT and was getting minute-to-minute action.

It was Joseph who had signed the pact with a promise of arresting ten shooters within 72 hours and he just proved his mettle by keeping his words.
