Three ex-IAS including one with controversial past join BJP in MP

Three former IAS officers joined Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP). These include Ved Prakash (2009), Mahesh Kumar Agrawal and Ravindra Kumar Mishra, who has controversial past with him. All the three officers have been promoted to IAS from state civil services and have been close to the chief minsiter Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Ravindra Kumar Singh, a 2002 batch IAS officers had been controversial with ‘tainted' past. In 2015, when he was collector of Panna, a principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya had consumed phenyl after levelling charges against him. Though later she withdrew the complaint, Mishra was removed from the post. A panel of senior officers investigated the allegations and it was found that Mishra had close relations with the lady principal and they used to talk to each other late night on phone.

Ved Prakash, a 2009 batch IAS officer, is planning to from Jabalpur, where he had served as for long time. He is running a foundation Lakshyabhedi while nursing political ambition. As the commissioner of Jabalpur, he brought in the smart city project and developed the city with innovations. A native of Bihar, Ved Prakash was known as a good administrator having served as collector in Chhindwara and Narsinghpur.

The third IAS Mahesh Kumar Agrawal, a 2000 batch officer, is a with a sound grounding in finance. He has served as collector of Dewas apart from on other important posts like commissioner at registrar of cooperative societies, Ayush commissioner and of Chambal. Comparatively, having clean image he is also looking to contest election this time. He is also being considered close to chief Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Apart from that a week ago three former IAS officers – Kavindra Kiyawat and Raghuveer Shrivastava, S N Singh Chouhan- had also joined BJP.
