As the clock struck 2, there was sigh of relief and sign of satisfaction on faces of at least 8 IAS officers deeply involved in organising the Rising Rajasthan Global , which concluded today.

Though chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and chief secretary Sudhansh Pant made contribution of every officer count in this mega summit, which amassed an investment commitment of over Rs 35 lakh crore making it the largest investment summit next only to Uttar Pardesh's which garnered MoUs worth Rs 40 lakh crore last year. 

“It's not only three days which we're important for us. We have been continuously working without taking any leave and vacation for last six months strategising and conceiving the summit. It's the success entire . Every one right from ministers to bureaucrats chipped in with value,” said a senior IAS, who dealt directly with Rising Rajasthan. 

Reasons for Success

The summit was organised with a well thought of plan. Lot of homework and backroom strategies were made, brainstorming was done and agencies were involved to make it a grand success. 

Successful summits of other states were studied. Sectoral investment meets were organised, district level meets were organised and mega roadshows were held in business cities to galvanise the entire and attract investors with high decibel industry-friendly policies. For the first time, the government came out with all new 10 policies with magnetic provisions. 

Foreign trips to discerning countries like UAE, Germany, UK, Japan and South Korea bore results and the Brand Rajasthan grew stronger. International investors came to know that Rajasthan has more to offer other than its majestic forts and tourism. 

Major investment pledges came in sectors like energy, infrastructure and housing, medical and health, mining and education with energy contributing 80% of the total committed investments. 

Inviting PM and union ministers

The inauguration by PM instilled belief among investors that Modi is endorsing the initiative of Bhajan Lal Sharma, who is in his first year of chief ministership. Then cabinet colleagues of Modi – Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Piyush Goyal, Dharmendra Pradhan, Pralhad Joshi, Nitin Gadkari – all came not only as a guest but also as a change agents promising all support to the summit and committed investments.
