Call it a coincidence. Former chief minsiter Vasundhara Raje, who has been CM twice, is erstwhile Maharani of Dholpur. The current chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma is from neighbouring district Bharatpur.

But the former and the current CM from BJP have a Dholpur factor in their office. Raje's all powerful officer on special duty (OSD) Dhirendra Kanthan was from Dholpur. He was a trusted aide of Raje and would take care of all her important assignments when she was CM on both the occasions.
Bhajan Lal Sharma's OSD Yogesh Kumar Srivastava, a 2008 batch RAS officer, is also from Dholpur.

Kamthan, an advocate by profession, was a political appointee while Srivastava is an administrative officer with more than 15 years of experience.
Srivastava, has a rich experience of working as personal staff of ministers and politicians. He was working as deputy secretary to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was relieved only on December 14 to be part of team of new CM. He was with Birla from August 2022 to December 14, 2023.
Srivastava has also worked as special assistant to food and civil supplies minister of Rajasthan Ramesh Chand Meena. He was also secretary to Meena when The latter was parliamentary secretary during February 2009 to March 2012.
An upright officer, Srivastava's experience in working with dignitaries will help the new chief minsiter to get the grasp of things easily.
