The panchayatiraj and rural development department issued orders appointing retired IAS officer I Rani Kumudini as the State Election Commissioner. Rani Kumudini will replace C Parthasarathi.
A 1998 batch officer, she had retired in July 2023 after serving in various capacities with both the State and union government.
In another order, retired IAS officer MG Gopal has been appointed as Vigilance Commissioner for a period of three years. Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari issued orders to this effect on Tuesday. He also took charge the same day.
