The suspended ASP of Special Operations Group (SOG) Divya Mittal has landed into fresh trouble. The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), which is probing case of disproportionate asset against Miittal has filed a new FIR. The ACB has accused Mittal of taking a bribe of Rs one crore against deliberately weakening of two cases related to narcotics and not making any arrest. Currently Mittal is on bail after spending few months in jail.
According to ACB, Miital had taken bribe from one Sanjay Nandawani, who has also been booked by ACB as taking as well as giving bribe – both is crime.
The ACB, in January this year had verified the complaint of one Vikas Agrawal and caught Divya Mitttal for demanding a bribe of Rs 2 crore In a case related to narcotics.
Later, ACB probed the case of disproportionate asset and found her asset to be 123% more than her earning. The ACB has seized many properties, land, flats and a luxury resort in Udaipur. Mittal is said to be fond of investing money in properties. The ACB found that she used to buy land and property every year from unaccountable money.
During the probe, ACB has found new incriminating evidences against Mittal of showing laxity in another case of narcotics against bribe Rs one crore and letting the accused go. The ACB had filed an FIR against both of them.
The Case:
According to ACB, while investigating into the case of Ra 2 crore bribe on complaint of Vikas Agrawal, ACB found some recording and evidences about another two cases where Mittal had taken a bribe of Rs one crore from Sanajay Nandwani in a hotel in Pushkar. The ACB had verified the sample of evidences produced by Agrawal in FSL lab and after verification had lodged FIR. Now Mittal will face interrogation in this case.
The SOG has filed three cases under narcotics drugs psychotropic substances (NDPS) Act against Sunil Nandwani, owner of a Dehradun based pharmaceutical company. Divya Mittal as probing those cases. Nandwani was arrested in one case but in other two cases Mittal is accused of deliberately diluting the cases taking bribe from Sunil's brother Sanjay Nandwani.
Who is Divya Mittal ?
Divya Mittal is a 2010 batch Rajasthan Police Service (RPS) officer. Out of her 12 years of active service, she managed her posting in Udaipur for seven years. She was posted in excise department also where she had controversy with liquor traders. She was accused of taking bribe and was later put on APO. After two months, she was posted as Assistant Commandant in Udaipur Khairwada. For last two years, she had been posted in Ajmer as ASP in SOG .
Live-in relation, love marriage, divorce
Like professional her personal life is also filled with controversies. In June 2014, she had an online interaction over social media with Prateek, who is a CA from Hisar. They used to interact frequently and became friendly.
After three months they both met in Udaipur. Divya's parents were ready for the marriage but Prateek told her that her mother lives in Gurgaon and will have to seek her acceptance before marriage.
Divya and her father Vinod Mittal went to Delhi where they stayed for some days but could not meet Prateek's mother.
Meanwhile Prateek and Divya solemnised a secret wedding at a temple and started living as husband and wife. They decided to do ceremonial wedding after some time. During that period they stayed at various places like Mathura, Bharatpur and Udaipur as husband and wife.
Finally they got formally married. In 2015, Divya's father filed a case of dowry and harassment against Prateek and his family at Hisar Police station. The case continued for few years before they got divorced.
