Rajasthan chief secretary Sudhansh Pant known for his fast decision making and efficiency has ordered all departments to immediately implement the budget provisions soon after the budget was tabled in the assembly. This is for the first time, chief secretary has acted in such a swift manner.
He has classified schemes and programmes in three categories – A, B and C. Those schemes and programmes which don't need any fresh budget allocations have been kept under category A.
The chief secretary has directed to implement those schemes immediately while schemes and programmes, which need fresh budget have to be implemented within 15 days.
Rare to see bureaucracy working to complete political mandate
If this moves in right direction then state will gain as it is rare to see bureaucracy working in sync with the political regime. Ever since chief secretary Sudhansh Pant has taken over, he has been trying to sharpen the bureaucracy by enforcing fixed turnaround time for file disposal to ensure punctuality of staff. He has made department heads more accountable.
