Rajasthan government will have to find an efficient and balanced officer to look after the all important public relation department. The department of information and public relation (DIPR) commissioner Sunil Sharma is hanging his boots on Wednesday.
Sharma has played well during his stint as commissioner. Ever since he took over the post, there has been remarkable change in the department. While a dedicated team is there to seek explanation from department for every negative news published, Sharma has ensured that the chief minister and state government are seen in positive light.
“Sharma Sir is an unbiased officer. He takes along his team well. The best part is he knows the strength of everyone and places right person at right job,” said a senior DIPR officer.
Sharma also had to face difficult times as well in his personal life. His wife Hem Pushpa Sharma, also an IAS officer, had undergone health issues. Battling with this, Sharma ensured that work doesn't suffer much.
Tough task ahead
Now the state government will have to put an equally capable officer in his place. The state government also has several important posts vacant which are being taken care of as an assimilate charge like commissioner commercial tax, IG stamps and RREC managing director among others.
“Officers are waiting for an extensive transfer list. There are many posts under additional charge while some collectors need to be reshuffle for effective governance,” said a senior IAS officer.
