You never know what you can become in life, just fits in political lives of two chief ministers of neighbouring – Rajasthan and Haryana.

The newly elected chief of Rajasthan has startling similarities with Haryana chief minister who is serving his second term. But in 2014, when Manohar Lal Khattar, a Khatri by caste was named chief minister Jat dominated Haryana, no one could believe that. Like Bhajan Lal Sharma, he was also the first time MLA.

The way Bhajan Lal Sharma, a native of Bharatpur, was strongly opposed when he was given ticket from Jaipur's Sanganer constituency, Manohar Lal Khattar had also faced opposition from within the party members and was called an outsider when he had contested his first election from Karnal in 2014.

Both Khattar and Sharma, despite being new to their respective constituencies, not only won the elections but unexpectedly annexed the top post amid a line up strong contenders.

Both Sharma and Khattar are deep rooted in RSS, the parent organisation of BJP. Both have served for several years as organisational general secretary of party in their respective states.
Both enjoy patronage of central leadership including prime minister Narendra Modi.
Both Sharma and Khattar have clean past record and are committed workers.

Manohar Khattar, despite being inexperienced in electoral politics, did well and repeated his in 2019 elections. The of Rajasthan expects a better performance from Sharma who has a big benchmark to cross, set up by Vasundhara Raje.
