Smita Srivastava posted as ADG Anti Corruption

Smita Srivastava has been posted as additional director general in anti bureau -II in a late night reshuffle of 24 IPS officers. Two IPS officers were given additional charge.

Out of these 24 officers, 15 are those who were part of last list released on February 16, 2024 – less than a week back. They have been given new postings even before they could open their baggage.

Among fresh transfers, Smita Srivastava, a 1995-batch IPS officer, who was serving as additional director general, civil rights and anti human trafficking, has been posted as additional director general () anti corruption bureau -II. She will strengthen the team of Rajeev Kumar Sharma, who is director general, anti corruption bureau. Hemant Priyadarshy, a 1992 batch IPS, is already there in anti corruption bureau serving as additional director general. The entry of Smita Srivastava as the second ADG is an indicative that the government is gearing up to go strongly against corruption under two ADG level officers. This is probably for the first time that two ADG level officers have been inducted in anti corruption.

Bipin Kumar Panday, additional director general police welfare, has been posted as ADG, technical services (telecommunications and technical). He has replaced Bhupendra Sahu, who was recently transferred to that post. Now Sahu has again been transferred within a month as ADG, civil rights and anti human trafficking. Govind Gupta, who is serving as ADG planning, modernisation and welfare, has been given additional charge of police welfare also.

Ajay Singh, who was recently been transferred as DIG, recruitment and board, has been moved to DIG, SSB, within a week. Apart from Singh, transfer of 14 other officers of SP level were reviewed and they were given new responsibilities. These officers included Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav, Rajan Dushyant. Shankar Dutt Sharma, Ram Murti Joshi, Vineet Kumar Bansal, Alok Srivastava, Shyam Singh, Vandita Rana, Sagar, Gyan Chand Yadav, Rajesh Kumar Yadav and Rajashree Raj Verma among others.
