Problems for IAS Rohini Sindhuri is not getting over soon. After allegations levelled by IPS D Roopa Moudgil of high level corruption, Indian singer and songwriter Lucky Ali has also accused IAS Rohini Sindhuri, her husband Sudhir Reddy and the alleged Bengaluru land mafia for attempting to kill him over a longstanding land dispute.
Ali, taking to X (formerly twitter), named Dayananda Pai, Satish Pai, Ashwin Pai, and Pavi Pai, as well as Century Builders Yeshwantpur Shenoy, Raghunath, and others for conspiring to kill him for land grabbing. According to Ali, they had allegedly hired individuals like Asif Iqbal, Razwan, and local thugs, with assistance from Sudhir Reddy, IAS Rohini Sindhuri, Madhu Reddy, and Bujjama, to carry out the attack.
He has also alleged that the Pais (Satish, Ashwin and Pavi) presented a plot to Sudhir Reddy, Bijjamma, Rohini Sindhuri and Madhu Reddy in ‘Century Artizan' on land grabbed from the Trusts of Ali Estate.
As per media reports, the land in question was purchased way back in 1969 by Lucky Ali's father Mehmood Ali, who purchased 400 acres of land. Around 220 acres of land was lost due to various complications. The remaining 160 acres were distributed among four trusts owned by Mehmood's children, with Lucky Ali overseeing 33 acres under one of the trusts.
Last year, during one of his concerts, Lucky Ali publicly spoke about the ongoing case, shedding light on the actions of the Bengaluru-based land mafia. He revealed that his family and children were currently residing alone on their farm in Kenchenahalli Yelahanka, Bengaluru, while he was in Dubai.
An advocate involved in the case stated that people took advantage of Mehmood Ali's poor health, fabricating transactions and causing complications. The family has been fighting against these transactions, with Lucky Ali now publicly accusing specific individuals of a sinister plot against him.
Who is Rohini Sindhuri?
Rohini Sindhuri is a 2009 batch IAS officer, currently posted as the chief editor of the Karnataka Gazetteer Department this week after being put on APO in February this year following her spat with IPS D Roopa Moudgil, who had posted 19 allegations and her photographs on social media.
Sindhuri had found herself in several controversies including mysterious death of D K Ravi, an IAS officer. Her name had surfaced in his death. CBI had probed the case and the closure report absolved her of any involvement.
Sindhuri, who was awarded by union government in 2015 for reaching the 100 per cent mark in toilet construction, has her share of controversies also. She has been levelled with serval corruption charges including cloth bag scam and misdirecting funds to construct swimming pool and indoor gym at her residence. Recently, another IAS officer Shilpa Nag, who was the Commissioner of Mysuru City Corporation, had accused Sindhuri of ‘humiliating' her and denying her professional appreciation.
