A day after Election Commission of India (ECI) removed three senior IAS officers, four district collectors, ten SPs, three police commissioners in Telangana over laxity in duty, a senior IAS officer T.K. Sreedevi registered her displeasure over EC action through a post on X (formerly twitter “How can an officer who has taken charge 3 working days before the visit of the CEC to the state be held responsible for the performance of the department? Just asking?? (sic).”
Sreedevi, a 2004 batch IAS has been removed from post of commissioner of commercial taxes under directions of Remctikn Commission of India.
Countering the EC's allegation of laxity in work, she further posted news clipping about the commercial taxes department unearthing Rs 42 crore GST refund scam and asked, “Can this be called lax?? Just asking?? (sic)”
In addition, Commissioner of Commercial Taxes T.K. Sreedevi, Excise Director Mohd. Musharraf Ali and Transport Secretary K. Srinivas Raju are among the senior bureaucrats who have been transferred.
