Servant loots son of former chief secretary VBL Mathur, family poisoned, out of danger now

A servant poisoned the family of former secretary Vipin Bihari Lal Mathur and decamped with money and jewellery from the house. According to , the incident of loot happened at the house of Sanjeev Mathur, who is the son of late former chief secretary Vipin Bihari Mathur.

“The servant named Pooran Swaroop who is from Chhattisgarh poisoned Sanjeev Mathur, his wife Kanchan Mathur and his son Gaurav Mathur. They were found unconscious when the maid of the house came at 11 am. She called up the police, who took the three to SMS where they were declared out of danger,” the police said.

DCP East Gyanchand Yadav said that the servant gave them dinner laced with poison and when they felt unconscious the servant decamped with goodies. The Mathur family is now out of danger and they are undergoing treatment at SMS hospital.

Who is Vipin Bihari Lal Mathur

VBL Mathur is a 1956 batch IAS officer, who served as chief secretary in both Congress and BJP government from 1986 to 1992. He in 2018 at the age of 84 years.
