SDM Amit Chaudhary of ‘slapgate controversy’ clears CSE Mains, to appear in interview

SDM Amit Kumar Chaudhary, who hit the headlines after being slapped by an independent Naresh Meena during the recent by-election at Deoli-Uniara assembly segment, is again in news. This time for clearing the mains of Civil Services Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

Now Chaudhary, a 2019 batch Rajasthan Service () officer has an opportunity to become if he succeeds in clearing the interview and attaining high position in merit.

This is the second year in a row that Chaudhary has qualified for interview. In 2023, he could not make it to the final merit list due to low score.

A B.Tech from an college in Rajasthan, Chaudhary had opted Hindi literature in the main examination. 

“I have prepared well this time. I hope to make it to the merit list,” he said. 

Meanwhile bail application of Naresh Meena, the independent candidate who had slapped Choudhary publicly, has been turned down by a local court in Uniara. Meena had manhandled Chaoudhary who was on election duty in full public view at Samravta village.
