Safety First at IPL: Niraj K Pawan not to allow entry in half constructed galleries

sports Niraj K Pawan is concerned about the safety of spectators coming to watch IPL matches at SMS stadium. 

He has firmly told that the state government will not allow cricket lovers to sit in an incomplete galleries.

“Rajasthan Royals was expected to complete the construction work by April 6. Now hardly four days are left construction is still on. I will not allow entry of spectators if work is not completed to my satisfaction. Their safety is paramount,” Pawan said. 

With the IPL first match in Jaipur scheduled in April 13, 2025, Rajasthan Royals is yet to complete the construction work. The most premium Shane Warne's gallery is still in complete. Construction work is on at dressing room and south pavilion. The tickets of Shane Warne Gallery cost Rs 20,000 each varying with demand. The of this most luxurious and premium gallery is 700.

“Even if any spectator has bought ticket of Shane Warne Gallery, he will not be allowed unless work is completed with all safety standards. I will get the work validated by engineers of department before giving go ahead. We cannot risk lives of people,” Pawan said.

The construction work has been on for last two months. The local franchisee Rajasthan Royals is renovating the south pavilion, dressing room and Shane Warne's gallery for accommodating more people.
