Rajasthan government has given one year extension to Rajesh Kumar Sharma, who is working as the chairman and managing director of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL). This is the second consecutive extension to Sharma who was first appointed chairman and managing director in January 2021.
Sharma carries a vast experience of close to four decades in energy and power generation.
Sharma has been a creditable name in the field of power generation. He proved his mettle while working as director (projects) in November 2020. He played a key role in speeding up the construction of 660 MW Suratgarh supercritical unit-7, which started commercial production in December 2020.
His appointment is crucial at a time when the state is reeling under power shortage. His experience will help power plants to generate power to the hilt.
On the re-appointment, Sharma said, “The main goal is to ensure smooth operation of the generating corporation's power plants and to increase the efficiency of the employees for ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the State's consumer.”
