Veteran actor Rituraj Singh died of a sudden cardiac attack (CSA) on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday at his home in Lokhandwala, Mumbai. He was 59. According to reports Singh had been battling pancreatic issues for some time. He was recently hospitalised for the treatment of pancreatitis. Singh is survived by his wife and two children.
His friend Amit Behl confirmed the tragic demise of the actor. “He passed away due to cardiac arrest. He was admitted to a hospital some time back for treatment of pancreas. [He] returned home, had some cardiac complications and passed away,” Behl informed media.
Rituraj Singh created his own identity by hosting the reality game show ‘Tol Mol Ke Bol' on Zee TV in the 90s, has worked in many serials, films and OTT shows. There has been a wave of mourning in the TV industry due to the sudden death of the actor. Many celebrities, like Arshad Warsi, Manoj Bajpayee, Varun Dhawan, Hansal Mehta, Sonu Sood and Kavita Kaushik mourned his death on social media.
Manoj Bajpayee, who was Rituraj's friend expressed his grief on X “How can this be true Ritz? Why? Such a devastating news to wake up to! Rest in peace Rituraj my friend! Om Shanti.”
Actor, Arshad Warsi paid emotional tribute the deceased actor on his X handle. Warsi wrote, ‘….will miss you brother….'
The fans are also quite shocked. Many fans on social media are paying tribute to the actor with tears in their eyes.
Works and Life of Rituraj Singh
Rituraj Singh was a famous actor of both small screen of TV and big screen of Bollywood cinema. He played different roles in many television shows, name a few Banegi Apni Baat aired on Zee TV in 1993, Jyoti, Hitler Didi, Shapath, Warrior High, Aahat, Adaalat, and Diya Aur Baati Hum. He also played much talked about role of Balwant Chodhary in Laado 2, a tv serial by Color TV. He was featured in the popular Hindi TV game show of Zee TV – Tol Mol Ke Bol. Singh was also part of a web series titled Abhay available on Zee5. This web series marked the digital debut of Kunal Khemu.
He was born in the coaching city of India – Kota in Rajasthan in 1964. His full name was Rituraj Singh Chandrawat Sisodia. He did his schooling in Delhi and then moved to America. After returning India, he settled in Mumbai.
