Rising Rajasthan rings in homecoming for mystical Marwaris

NRR meet is a quintessential part of every pre investment summit of Rising Rajasthan to connect with Marwaris living in various parts of the world

There was a time when traders and businessmen of Rajasthan had to move out to do business. With unmatched business acumen, they succeeded earned name and fame and called as the mystical Marwaris. 

But Sand has shifted since then. People from across world are coming to Rajasthan to set up industries, businesses and trading.  

Even those proverbial Marwaris are coming back to their roots and start new venture in their motherland.

The business ecology, the environment and the consumption ecosystem have changed completely. The reverse flow of brains and money have pledged prosperity, jobs and success in Rajasthan.

Barren sandy land, high speed storm and scorching sun – factors which made Marwaris to move out, have now become money spinners for them. Vast stretches of barren land spread across Jaisalmer-Bikaner-Barmer are now yielding inexhaustible power drawn from high speed wind and scorching sunlight. The area, which was once deserted, has become happy hunting ground for big ticket solar and wind power companies.

Rising Rajasthan organises NRR meets

Rising Rajasthan Global Summit, which is scheduled from 9-11 December, is likely to draw big investment from migrant Rajasthanis living in various parts of the word.

As part of pre summit, Rajasthan government is organising Non Resident Rajasthani (NRR) meets at every place Rising Rajasthan delegation visits. The delegation engage with NRRs, evoke patriotism and present with them the business potential Rajasthan holds these days.

“Such meets are successful as we are getting good response from Marwaris doing businesses across the globe. They are giving us warm reception, listening to us and responding with investment commitment for Rising Rajasthan. They want to do something for their motherland,” said a senior industries department official.

Great response from big Marwaris

Likes of Marwari clan – Birlas, Goenkas, Agrawals and Ruias have responded well and committed lakhs of rupees investment for the Rising Rajasthan summit. While Vedanta's Anil Agrawal has committed more than Rs 1 crore investment, Ruia of Essar has committed for solar venture. Similarly, other Marwari business families are also deliberating their business plans and would chip in with big investments.
