Rajasthan Industrial Development and Investment Corporation, a government owned industrial development agency, is the first to start the implementation of investment committed during the recently concluded Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit.

Within 10 days of conclusion of summit, RIICO not only provided land to a German conglomerate Albatross Project GmBH but also facilitated the ground breaking ceremony of its new facility in Jodhpur which will entail an investment of Rs 42 crore. The company will manufacture advanced RF Chambers and metal panels used for defence, aerospace and medical devices sectors.

Next in the line is allotment of land to an Australian company Orica, which is one of the world's largest provider of commercial explosives and blasting systems to the mining sector. The company is seeking 10 acre land in Ukhaliya RIICO industrial area in

“This will be the first project in 200-acre Ukhaliya industrial area. The company will invest Rs 50 crore for manufacturing explosives for mining operations of Vedanta group,” said a senior RIICO official.

RIICO managing director Inderjeet Singh, who played a key role in roping in participation of 32 in Rising Rajasthan summit including 16 as partner countries, said that the state government is committed to create a world class industrial ecosystem in Rajasthan.

“Global investors are looking up to Rajasthan as a hot investment destination. We are here to facilitate them with whatever is required. We will up the sentiments of investors and industrialists with prompt delivery and speedy implementation,” he said.

These are not the only projects which are witnessing aggressive push from RIICO. The agency is working 24X7 for realising investment commitments worth Rs 1.25 crore drawn from more than 1100 companies across the globe in Rising Rajasthan summit.

“Next three months are crucial for us. We have been given mandate to realise all the MoUs by this fiscal. Our MD is monitoring the progress on a daily basis,” said a senior RIICO official, who like many other senior RIICO officials, has not taken a single day off in last three months.

What RIICO is doing for faster implementation of Rising Rajasthan commitments?

Rolling out a new land policy: RIICO is working on framing a new land policy under which companies executing MoUs in Rising Rajasthan may be allotted land of their choices directly at reserve price without taking the auction route. This will not only save time but also instil confidence among investors and businessmen who have shown their interest in contributing to the GDP of  Rajasthan.

Mobile App: The agency has launched RIICO mobile app where investors can apply online through links. They can avail all kinds of services online by applying through app. They can also lodge complaints or grievance over app and avail the redressal without visiting RIICO offices.

Inderjeet Singh, a 2010 batch IAS of officer, who had earlier served as commissioner and special secretary in department of information technology, has introduced various technological interventions to make RIICO smarter and faster.

Dedicated officers and special cell for implementation: RIICO has appointed dedicated officers and a special cell to follow up and facilitate companies, which have signed up MoUs in Rising Rajasthan summit. They have been asked to work round the clock for speedy implementation. Officials have been directed to coordinate with district administration, discoms, PHED, municipalities and other civic departments to facilitate permissions for companies.

Regular review: RIICO managing director Inderjeet Singh conducts regular reviews and monitors the progress personally. RIICO officials are mandated to contact company officials on a regular basis to keep a track of their plans.
