RCA: Dhananjai Khimsar appointed interim president

Dhananjai Khimsar, son of Rajasthan health minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar has been appointed as interim president of RCA

Dhananjai Khimsar, son of Rajasthan health minister , has been appointed as the interim president of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA).  The decision was taken at the extra ordinary general meeting of RCA. 

Dhananjai Khimsar is president of Cricket Association. The executive body of RCA accepted her of outgoing president Vaibhav Gehlot and made Khimsar the interim president. The committee also demanded that the matches of IPL should be organised under banner of RCA. BCCI has asked the state government to conduct matches of IPL after the resignation of Vaibhav Gehlot.

Khimsar to conduct RCA elections soon

Khimsar, after taking over as interim president, said the association will soon conduct to elect full time president. 

“We will start preparation for the election. The dates for election will be announced next week. The election will be of three weeks and will see some new faces as office bearers. 

Dhananjai Khimsar said that his priority would be to protect the interest of players and cricket in the state. 

“I will speak with BCCI for organising IPL matches under the banner of state cricket body,” he said.

Khimsar said that he is open to suggestions from former RCA president Vaibhav Gehlot.

“We will implement suggestions of Vaibhav Gehlot it is in the interest of state cricket. He had been president for four years,” he said.

Cooperative department to look into dues and MoU 

The Rajasthan State Sports Council has sealed the office of RCA after the MoU ended last month. There is also payment dispute between RCA and Sports council, which is demanding Rs 8 crore from RCA against using stadium for holding IPL matches and other dues. 

The cooperative department is looking into the MoU which RCA had signed with sports council. It will also evaluate the dues.

“It is feared that cooperative department may form an empowered committee to get authority from government from holding IPL matches in the absence of RCA president. The cooperative department is holding the meeting on March 12 to discuss the issue of due and MoU,” said the functionary.
