Priyanka Bishnoi, a 2019 batch Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer, succumbed to death during treatment at CIMS Hospital, Ahmedabad.
Bishnoi, who was serving as deputy commissioner at municipal corporation, Jodhpur (North), was admitted at CIMS, after severe complication post surgery at Vasundhara Hospital Jodhpur where she was admitted on account of stomach pain.
Family of Bishnoi alleged negligence on part of Vasundhara Hospital and demanded action against hospital. They alleged that the treatment was not done properly.
“It was found that anaesthesia was administered in excess to her and her condition went serious due to excess bleeding. It was sheer negligence of hospital management,” said one of her family members.
Jodhpur Collector set up an enquiry committee
After receiving complaints against the hospital, Jodhpur collector Gaurav Agrawal had ordered for an enquiry into the treatment of the hospital.
The collector had asked principal of SN Medical College Bharti Saraswat to set up an enquiry and submit report within three days.
The principal has constituted a committee of five doctors including Dr Ranjana Desai from gynaecology department, Dr Indu Thawani from medicine, Dr Vijay Sharma from surgery, Dr Shubhkaran Khhichad from neurology and Dr Naveen Paliwal from anaesthesia department.
“We will take immediate action after the committee submits the report,” Gaurav Agrawal had said.

Priyanka Bishnoi is a 2019 batch RAS officer, serving as deputy commissioner at municipal corporation Jodhpur (North).
A native of Bikaner, she was a bright officer with unblemished service record. Out of five years of service, she served more than two years in Jodhpur in various capacities.
