Ahead of model code of conduct, RAS Ashok Sankhla who was suspended last year in April has been reinstated as deputy director in women and child development department in Karauli.
Ashok Kumar Sankhla was caught taking bribe of Rs 5 lakh from company constructing Delhi-Mumbai Express. Sankhla was caught along with former Alwar Collector Nannu Mal Pahadia, who was demanding bribe of Rs 16 lakh form the company. Both were caught two days after Pahadia was transferred from the post.
“Pahadia was not getting relieved and asking for the bribe even after transfer. Sankhla was allegedly his companion,” said an ACB officer.
Sankhla was jailed for 67 days before he was out on bail. Now after one and half years, he has been reinstated.
