Rajesh Nirwan, a 1992 batch IPS officer from Rajasthan cadre, who was on awaiting posting order after being repatriated to home cadre from central deputation, has been appointed as director general and commandant general home guard.
On central deputation, he was serving as ADG in Border Security Force (BSF).
Rajesh Nirwan went on central deputation as Inspector General in BSF in 2016. He got promoted as ADG in the security force in 2021.
While serving as IG Border Security Force (FHQ), Nirwan was awarded with President Police Medal (PPM) Government of India for his meritorious services in 2019.
Nirwan is considered as intelligent and sharp officer. He has served in various position in Rajasthan Police including IG Intelligence, IG Ajmer range and DIG SOG.
He had been superintendent of police (SP) in districts like Kota, Tonk, Sawai Madhopur and Jhalawar besides stints as SP in CID, security and vigilance departments.
