Former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje has advanced her birthday celebrations by 4 days to turn it into a jamboree which is likely to shape up the poll politics of BJP in the upcoming elections. Raje will turn 70 on March 8. The central leadership has not been giving much importance to her in the past. Her birthday celebration is aimed to reiterate that Raje is still the most popular BJP face in the state.

The party on the other hand has announced to stage a gherao of to protest the paper leak during the competitive exams for government jobs and the increasing unemployment among the youth. the selection of dat is being seen as an aim to sabotage the programme of Vasundhara Raje and thwart BJP supporters from attending her birthday celebrations.

Show of strength

Raje supporters claim that over one lakh people are likely to gather in this celebrations. Her trusted lieutenants like Kalicharan Sarraf , Younus Khan , Rajpal Singh Shekhawat , Kailash Meghwal and Ashok Parnami among others have take up responsibility to mobilise supporters.

Strong political message

The former CM's move to hold birthday celebrations at Salasar dham in Churu district has been perceived here as a challenge to state BJP president Poonia, who hails from Churu's Rajgarh village, and Deputy Leader of the Opposition Rajendra Rathore, who treats the district as his political bastion and at present represents Churu in the State Assembly. He was earlier elected from Churu's Taranagar seat.

Poonia has opposed the projection of any leader as the for the CM's face and declared several times that the Assembly election will be fought with the face of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Union Minister and Jodhpur MP , said to be nursing hopes of becoming the CM, has also stated that there is no leader in the party bigger than Modi and the BJP will contest the poll with lotus, the party's symbol.
