Big Boss 16 contestant Gori Nagori, popularly known as Rajasthan's Shakira is gearing up to dance down into politics. She is planning to contest from Nagaur in the upcoming assembly elections.
A native of Nagaur, Gori Nagori, through a video release, has announced about her political plans.
“I Gori Nagori is going to contest the assembly elections from Nagaur seat. We will together bring change in Nagaur and turn it into a developed and prosperous Nagaur. I am sure you all will support me,” she appealed.
Nagori said that she is in contact with all the parties. Still she hinted to fight it on her own by saying that whatever success she has got is her own.
“I have struggled throughout on my own. So far I am planning to contest independently,” she said.
Gori Nagori alias Naslima Bano, 24, hogged the limelight when he was selected for 16th edition of the Big Boss reality show. Though she could not win the contest, Gori Nagori won the hearts of fellow contestants and audiences.
“I don't want to do politics in the same old fashion. I want to bring novelty in it and serve people selflessly. We see same old politicians fighting with each other for years. They just don't do any service to people. I want to change it all,” she said.

It's not for the first time that a person from entertainment industry is trying luck in Rajasthan politics. Nathu Singh Gurjar, a popular actor of Rajasthani films, has contested assembly election and became minister in the first tenure of Vasundhara Raje (2003-2008).
“Just glamour can't win election for Gori Nagori. She is popular among youth but winning election is altogether different. Neither she knows local problems nor people take her seriously,” said Habib Khan, a resident of Nagaur.
Who is MLA of Nagaur?
At present Mohan Ram Choudhary of BJP is the MLA who defeated Habib-ur-Rehman of Congress. Nagaur has a good number of Muslim population. Habib-ur-Rehman had been MLA twice on BJP ticket before 2018 elections, when BJP denied him the ticket. Rehman contested on Congress ticket but could not win third time.
“Gori Nagori is eyeing Muslim and youth votes. I don't think any party will give her ticket. If she contests as independent, she may even lose deposit also,” Khan said.
