In a little more than 100 hours from releasing transfer list of 98 Additional SPs, the home department of Rajasthan revised transfers of eight officers, cancelled five and executed 17 fresh transfers of Addl. SPs.
“The revision and cancellation in transfer list is just an indication of how transfers and posting are being managed in police. Officers with political background and links with higher ups manage their postings while those who are not-so-lucky are victim of frequent transfers that too on insignificant postings,” said a senior police officer posted at headquarter for last 4 years.
Among the prominent officers, Raghuveer Saini, who was transferred to Jaipur rural from plum posting of Jaipur Development Authority, has been redirected to Jaipur discom. Saurabh Tiwari, who was sent to Rajasthan Police Academy from Intelligence Training Academy, Jaipur has now been redirected to Phalodi – 500 kms from Jaipur.
The list has not much significance in view of upcoming elections as most of the postings are non-field postings, which would not have much impact on election management.
