Rajasthan invites Singapore to become Partner Country of Rising Rajasthan summit

Rajasthan government has invited Singapore to become the ‘Partner Country' of ‘Rising Rajasthan' Global Summit 2024 to be held from 9-11 December, 2024.

A delegation led by Industry Minister Col put across this proposal to Singapore Government's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sim Ann during the visit to her office. 

The delegation also sought her cooperation in facilitating investments of Singaporean companies in Rajasthan.

“We have invited Singapore to become the ‘Partner Country' of ‘Rising Rajasthan' Investment Summit 2024. Moreover, we held meetings with several leading companies of Singapore, who are keen to invest in several projects in the state, including that of industrial parks, urban development, data centres, aviation MROs etc,” said Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. 

The delegation held one-on-one talks with key officials of Singapore government and public and private sector companies, seeking investments in key areas like developing industrial parks and urban development projects, aviation MROs, engineering, media, banking and finance sectors among other.

Apart from that, the delegation also visited campuses of Singapore's Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and leading consultancy Surbana Jurong. The delegation also held talks with other leading companies of the island nation like ST Engineering, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres and DBS Bank.

The visit to Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), which is the national urban planning authority of Singapore, was with an aim to understand the island nation's approach to urban planning amidst the growing pressure of increasing population.

The URA officials shared the details about the URA's long-term land use strategy, which includes polycentric development to bring jobs closer to residential areas, nature corridors linking green spaces, and future development zones to accommodate growth. 

Afterwards, the delegation also visited the campus of Singapore-based engineering and urban development consultancy firm Surbana Jurong, where  Sean Chiao, their Group CEO and other senior officials had discussion.

Col. Rathore-led delegation held discussion with the representatives of ST Engineering, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres and DBS Bank seeking investments in the state. Officials of these firms evinced interest in exploring opportunities in sectors like aviation MROs, engineering, data centres etc. 

Besides the Industries and Commerce Minister, the delegation in Singapore comprises Sudhansh Pant, (Medical and Health) Gayatri Rathore and other senior officials of the Government of Rajasthan.
