The Rajasthan High Court is going to get three new judges in the new year. The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the names of three judicial officers of Rajasthan.
These include Registrar General Pramil Kumar Mathur, District and Sessions Judge Jaipur Mahanagar II Chandraprakash Srimali and District and Sessions Judge Jodhpur Mahanagar Chandrashekhar Sharma.
The Supreme Court Collegium has sent the recommendation of three names to the Central Government. After getting the nod from the Centre, the President will issue appointment warrants for these three. All three are 1992 batch judicial officers.
The Rajasthan High Court has an authorised number of 50 judges. At present, there are 32 judges appointed in the High Court. About two years ago, the Rajasthan High Court had got 8 judges together. Of these, 5 were made from the judicial and 3 judges from the lawyer quota.
After getting these three new judges, the number of judges in the High Court will be 35. Even after that, 15 judges will be less than the sanctioned number.
Apart from this, 5 judges will also retire in 2025. These include Justice Pankaj Bhandari, Justice Madan Gopal Vyas in January, Justice Birender Kumar in May, Justice Narendra Dhadha in September and Justice Manoj Kumar Garg in November.
In such a situation, the number of judges in the High Court is going to be reduced to 30. However, in the new year, the Rajasthan High Court can get some new judges from the lawyer quota.
