Rajasthan govt releases provisional seniority list of RAS

has issued a provisional seniority list of RAS officers of various grades.

According to the Department of Personnel of Rajasthan, 29 RAS officers have been classified in the higher super time scale, 122 in the super time scale, 186 officers in the selection scale, 226 officers in the senior scale and 291 officers have been classified in the junior scale of the service.

There are 863 Rajasthan Service officers in the cadre serving in various positions. The personnel department has invited objections if any till 31.1.2024 regarding the anomaly in the seniority list, which is provisional.

Rajasthan Administrative Service, popularly known as RAS, is a state civil service of state Rajasthan along with Rajasthan Accounts Service, Rajasthan Police Service and other services. The officers are included in the state cadre of civil service officers.

RAS officers start service as assistant collectors and executive magistrates in the training period. After training they usually serve as Sub-Divisional Magistrate for some years. After that, they are posted as additional district collectors and additional district magistrates or additional Divisional Commissioner till their induction into the Indian Administrative Service by promotion. Besides, they also hold various other posts like Deputy Secretary to the Rajasthan Government, to the Rajasthan Government, Deputy Inspector General Stamp and Registration, Special Assistant to State Minister, Commissioner to , Additional Chief Executive Officer to Zila Parishad, chief executive officer to Zila Parishad, District Supply Officer, Secretary to Urban Improvement Trust, Registrar to State , District Excise Officer, Member of Board of Revenue, Deputy and additional Commissioner to Colonisation and many other posts to different departments.
