A day after transferring 20 IAS officers, Rajasthan changed Kota Collector Om Prakash Bunkar ahead of elections. Earlier in the list day before, the government had changed five Collectors. Mahaveer Prasad Meena , a 2013 batch promotee IAS will replace Bunkar. Meena was serving as managing director Rajasthan State Warehousing Corporation.

According to sources, Bunkar's transfer was effected suddenly at the behest UDH Shanti Dhariwal, who is MLA from Kota North assembly constituency. The matter is said to be related to Dhariwal's ambitious Chambal River Front.
