The state government has abolished post of officer on special duty (OSD) in Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC), which runs Palace on Wheels and state-owned hotels in Rajasthan. The post is of Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) cadre.
“The department of personnel (DoP) has acted upon recommendation of department of tourism for abolishing the post,” said an official of DoP.
Amita Mann, a RAS officer of 2021 batch was serving as OSD in RTDC. She has now been put on awaiting posting order (APO).
The managing director of RTDC is Anupama Jorwal, who is 2011 batch IAS officer. The corporation acts as a catalyst to establish develop; execute project and scheme that accelerate tourism in the state.
It manages numerous restaurants, cafeterias, hotels, motels, bars, boating and transport. The corporation also organises package tours, fairs, festivals, and entertainment, shopping and transport services.
In another order, the department of personnel has ordered for redesignation of an RAS cadre post – Additional Director in department of child rights to Additional Director-cum-Deputy Secretary in department of child rights.
Mukesh Kumar Meena, who is an RAS officer of 2006 batch, is serving on the post of additional director-cum-deputy secretary in the department.
