The Rajasthan government has frozen all the financial sanctions till further orders.
The additional chief secretary of finance department Akhil Arora, in an order, has clearly directed all departments to stall the tender process and related works immediately. The embargo applies to even those works which have been sanctioned but not started.earlier
The order puts stay on any inviting new tender, tenders under process and even those works whose sanctioned has been released earlier.
As per guidelines of the finance department, the embargo will remain in force till further orders.
According to sources, the new government is reeling under huge financial burden. In last 8-10 months the debt on state government has gone up to Rs 5.3 lakh crore putting pressure on financial prudence.
Sources said that the state government after banning new contracts and works, will go for austerity measures to prune down the expenses. There are still three and half months left in the financial year and the state government has already booked advance expense in order to fulfill freebies and fancy poll announcements.
