Rajasthan draws investment proposals of Rs 25,400 crore in health sector

As part of Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, signed up Investment MoUs of Rs 16,176 crore with the investors from Health, Medical and AYUSH sectors at the Health Pre-Summit With the signing of MoUs, the total investment proposals signed under the health sector under the banner of ‘Rising Rajasthan' Global Investment Summit 2024 has reached the figure of over Rs 25,400 crore. 

Among the investment MoUs signed today, investment MoUs worth Rs 14000 crore were signed in the Health and Medical sector while investment MoUs worth Rs 2,157 crore were signed in the AYUSH sector. Additionally, investment proposals worth Rs 57,000 crore were received on the RajNivesh portal. The conversion of these proposals in the on-ground projects is expected to generate over 6 lakh direct and indirect job opportunities in the .

Speaking about the commitment of the state government towards delivering quality healthcare, Chief Bhajan Lal Sharma said, “Our commitment towards healthcare is evident with 88% of the state's population covered under the comprehensive insurance scheme which is highest in the country. The state budget 2024-25 also allocated the highest ever Rs 28,000 crore which is over 8.26% of the overall budget. The government is also going to launch the new Pharma Policy and Medical Value Travel Policy to unlock the medical tourism potential of the state.”

Speaking about the significance of the Health & Medical sector, the Chief Minister said, “Every single rupee invested in the health sector will work towards alleviating the suffering and pain of the masses and bring smile on their faces. Every person contributing to the healthcare sector is doing the service of humanity.”

Among the MoUs signed, the investors have proposed to set up pharma units, medical colleges, universities, nursing colleges, homeopathy and Ayurveda college, Ayush Research Panchkarm Centre, Advanced Ayurveda and Naturopathy institutes in key areas of the state including Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Rajsamand, Sikar, Sirohi among others.

Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar said, “Signing ofMoUs,in such a large number, demonstrates the efforts and the impact of the policies launched in the last 11 months by the government. The new investment will not only bring new healthcare institutions, medical colleges and wellness centres in the state to provide quality healthcare but also create lakhs of job opportunities for the youth.”

, Principal Secretary, Medical & Health and Family Welfare, said, “Rajasthan has become a premier investment destination in healthcare due to its strategic location, attractive policies, and skilled workforce. The government is committed to providing quality healthcare at all stages of life, from childbirth to palliative care.”

, Managing Director,Rajasthan Medical Services Corporation Ltd said that the Health Pre-Summit was successfully concluded with signing of a large number of MoUs and the department will now work towards the on-ground implementation of these investment proposals.
