Rajasthan bureaucracy to get facelift in 2024

The new year will bring new hopes for the Rajasthan bureaucracy. As many as 47 IAS officers will scale up to the next level. The state will also get a new chief secretary as Usha Sharma is set to retire this month. She is unlikely to get an extension and Friday will be the last working day as her day of superannuation falls on Sunday. The entire Rajasthan bureaucracy is awaiting the name of a new chief secretary. While names of officers donning role of secretaries in central government are doing rounds, chances of cadre officers are also there.

The 1994 batch IAS officers – Kuldeep Ranka, Shreya Guha and Anand Kumar – currently serving as principal secretaries will be promoted to additional chief secretaries. Two officers of this batch – Roli Singh and Naresh Pal Gangwar – will get proforma promotions as they are on central deputation. While Gangwar serves as an additional secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Roli Singh is working as an additional secretary in the ministry. All these five officers will get the pay scale of the chief secretary.

2000 batch officers to become principal secretary

The officers of the 2000 batch – Manju Rajpal and Debasish Prusty – will one promoted to principal secretary from the secretary level. Manju Rajpal is working as a secretary in the rural department and as the mission director, of livelihood projects and self-help groups. Debasish Prusty is serving an international assignment as deputy chief of mission in Brussels.

2008 batch officers to become secretary
The officers of the 2008 batch will also change their designation from special secretary to secretary. These officers included Rajan Vishal, , Mohan Lal Yadav, Mahendra Soni, Vijay Pal Singh, Shelly Kishnani, Sushma Arora, Rashmi Gupta and Vandana Singhvi. Muktanand Agrawal who is on central deputation to the Ministry of Agriculture, will get a proforma promotion.

Apart from that, 12 IAS officers of the 2011 batch will be elevated from junior grade (JAG) to selection grade while 13 officers from the 2015 batch will get JAG pay scale from the senior scale.

Similarly, officers of the 2020 batch will get the pay scale of senior grade from the junior scale.
