Pradeep Singh Rajpurohit, presently High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, has been concurrently accredited as the next High Commissioner of India to Grenada and High Commissioner of India to the Commonwealth of Dominica. He will have residence in Port of Spain during his assignment.

Rajpurohit is a 2004 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer. He has served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs looking after 15 countries of Middle East. He had been Ambassador of Iraq in his previous assignment in 2017.

Jodhpur connection

Pradeep Singh Rajpurohit is a native of Peelwa village in Jodhpur district of Rajasthan. However his family has been living in Surayta village in the neighbouring Pali district for long time. His father Swaroop Singh is a retired principal while his mother is a home maker. His wife Manju Rajpurohit and his two daughters stay with him in Delhi.

Humble beginning

Rajpurohit studied in Hindi medium school of his small village before completing MBBS from S N Medical College Jodhpur. He has worked in primary health centres of Barmer district for two years before joining foreign services.

Illustrious Career of Pradeep Singh Rajpurohit

Rajpurohit played an important role in bringing back the mortal remains of 39 labourers mostly from Punjab, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh and Bengal, who were killed by ISIS in Mosul in 2014.

Under the monitoring of the then minister of external affairs Sushma Swaraj and her deputy General V K Singh, Rajpurohit played his part in ensuring honour to the departed souls and their families.

Rajpurohit had also been posted on countries like Germany, UAE, Saudi Arab and Egypt. He played an important role in coordinating Prime Minister 's visit to Egypt and the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi'a visit to India as the chief guest of the 74th Republic Day Parade this year.

His medical background was put to use when he ensured safe return of two lakh Indians from during the difficult times of Corona.

Rajpurohit also served in the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi as dealing with Internal Finance and Matters, including India's development cooperation in developing countries during 2012-2014
