Rajasthan police has seized more than 10 lakh litres illegal liquor in special operation of 30 hours spread over two days – October 28-29, 2023. The cost of liquor is estimated to be more than Rs six crore with an average of Rs 18 lakh per district.
The highest seizure is from Dausa where illegal liquor worth more than Rs one crore. The seizure in Sirohi also crossed Rs one crore.
The entire operation was closely monitored by Inspector General of Police Vikas Kumar, who has been appointed as the nodal officer for enforcement of model code of conduct in Rajasthan. The monitoring is being done through Stormclub war room. The seizures in three weeks is way beyond the capture happened as compared to last assembly elections.
Director General of Police Umesh Mishra appreciated the efforts of team led by Vikas Kumar.
There are 2,000 flying squads, which are keeping tight vigil on activities taking place during the election. The entire monitoring is being controlled by Kumar, who is 2004 batch IPS officer.
For the first time, police teams have been deployed 24X7 on Bharat Mata and Delhi-Mumbai Express Highway. Apart from that police teams have also been deployed on each and every entry point of express highways.
