PM Modi hails Rudransh Khandelwal for Silver at Asian Para Games

Recently another shooter from Rajasthan Divyansh Singh Parmar had won Gold in 10 m air rifle in Asian Games.

The Prime Minister posted on X:

“Congratulations to Rudransh Khandelwal for a well-deserved Silver for him in the Asian Para Games.

His outstanding performance in P1 – Men's 10m Air Pistol SH1 event is the fruit of his precision and practice.

India applauds this incredible achievement!”

Rudransh Khandelwal, who belongs to Bharatpur, took home the silver medal with a score of 238.3 points, in the Men's 10m Air Pistol SH1 event.

In the same event, Paralympic champion Manish Narwal won bronze with 217.3 points. This is Rudransh's second medal at the Asian Para Games 2023.

Rudransh has lost his leg during an accident in a marriage ceremony 8 years ago. But he ever lost hopes and prepared for shooting as he has sharp eyes and strong arms.

After winning the medal Rudransh said that the conditions were not favourable for him.

“This was the first time the competition took place indoor which favoured Chinese shooters. I used to practice in outdoor. Initially I had some Nishita but later I covered up to end up second. Now I will harder for the next eventZ my aim is to win gold in para Olympics,” Rudransh said.

He has been practising daily 6 hours in Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi with his coach J P Nautiyal.

“He doesn't even visit home. Last he came for a day only a month ago. He has not celebrated even Diwali with us over last two years,” said Rudransh's mother Vineeta.
