No need to panic, just stay alert, says ACS Shubhra Singh on fresh Covid cases

The Covid has again entered Rajasthan. In last 24 hours four patients have been reported positive – two each in Jaipur and Jaisalmer. Though the sub variant of Covid is yet to be ascertaiend. The government has already swung in action.

The of medical and health department Shubhra Singh said that people should not panic.

“Instead they should be alert and take care. The new sub variant JN-1 is not that dangerous. Around 90% of the patients infected with this sub variant got cured being isolated at home. There is not much need of hospitalisation. There is absolutely no need to fear and panic,” she said.

Shubhra Singh has also instructed all district collectors to issue as per the advisory of union ministry.

The government has also constituted a state level committee headed by IAS Shiv Prasad Nakate, who is serving as commissioner medical education.

Nakate said that a mock drill will be organised on December 26 to assess the facilities available in the hospitals to combat rising cases of Corona.

“We will check preparedness of all the government and private hospitals regarding beds, oxygen and other treatment facilities,” he said.

India recorded 594 fresh cases

India on Thursday recorded 594 fresh Covid-19 infections while the number of active cases increased to 2,669 from 2,311 the previous day, according to Union health ministry data. Out of these 2,311 cases, 21 cases are of the new JN.1 variant sparking cause of concern.
