Mastermind of Rajasthan Eligibility Exam for Teachers (REET) paper leak Bhupendra Saran, who has been on run for last three months, has been arrested at the Bengaluru airport. The Rs one lakh prized fugitive was caught in a joint operation of Rajasthan police's special operations group (SOG) and Anti Terrorist Squad while you coming from Ahmedabad. Another accused in the case and his accomplice Suresh Dhaka is still on run.
SOG officials said that police was monitoring Saran's possible movements and some places in Bengaluru were under surveillance for the past 6-7 days. Saran will now be quizzed after reaching Udaipur where the paper leak case has been registered against him. The police had arrested 40 candidates trying to solve the paper in a moving bus near Udaipur just before the exam on December 24, 2002 following which Suresh Vishnoi and Bhajan Lal Vishnoi were caught for facilitating candidates with the paper. The Vishnoi duo during interrogation revealed police the names of mastermind – Bhupendra Saran and Suresh Dhaka.
SOG chief Ashok Rathore said that the police had intelligence input that Saran was travelling from Ahmedabad to Bengaluru. On the basis of this input, a team was sent to Bengaluru airport. The accused during last few months is said to have travelled several places in Jalore, Bikaner and Barmer dodging the police.
Who is Bhupendra Saran
Bhupendra Saran is the mastermind of REET paper leak. He used to run a coaching Institute – Adhigam – in Jaipur along with his accomplice Suresh Dhaka. Saran had earlier been jailed for his involvement in paper leak of GNM 2011 recruitment paper leak and Police Constable 2022 examinations.

The Action:
During the interrogation, Saran told police that he left Jaipur soon after the Udaipur police caught the candidates in the moving bus. He went to Delhi first and thereafter left for Ahmedabad in a bus. Living for around 25 days at a relative's place in Ahmedabad he moved around in places like Jalore, Bikaner, Barmer, Ajmer and Phagi before returning to Ahmedabad. He stayed there for another 28 days and left for Bengaluru where he was finally caught in a well kid trap by police.
