Rajasthan government has effected transfer at top level of Indian Police Service (IPS).
In a late night order on Republic Day, Vijay Kumar Singh, who additional director general (ADG) technical services (telecommunication and technical, has been posted as additional director general ATS-SOG. The Bhajan Lal Sharma government has already appointed him the chief of SIT which is investigating the paper leak case. In Gehlot government SOG was investigating paper leak case.
Anand Srivastava, who remained Jaipur police commissioner for more than four and half years in Gehlot government and was later made ADG law and order, has been given an insignificant posting as ADG armed battalion. Srivastava has swapped his posting with Vishal Bansal who has been given role of ADG law and order.
Sanjay Agrawal, who was ADG head quarters, has been given an important and sensitive posting of ADG intelligence.
ADG Sanjib Kumar Narzary, who was working as head of community policing has been posted to the personnel department while S Sengathir, who was ADG intelligence, has been moved to headquarters.
Three IPS officers, who got promotion this year, have been given elevated role. Rupinder Singh, who has been promoted to ADG, will now serve as ADG Jail. He was working as IG Bharatpur range. Similarly Bhupendra Sahu, who was serving as IG jail has been given posting of ADG technical services while B L Meena has been posted as ADG community policing.
This is first list of IPS transfer apart from the appointment of new acting Director General of Police. Utkal Ranjan Sahoo has been given charge of director general of police after Umesh Mishra sought voluntary retirement. People were speculating that a bigger list will come with reshuffling of superintendents of police at districts. There are ten officers who are awaiting posting order including Rajesh Nirwan who has been repatriated to home cadre after a successful innings in Border Security Force where he had served as ADG.
