The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is thinking about giving more time for people to follow the ‘One , One Fastag' rule. They might extend the deadline until the end of March because some Paytm Fastag users are facing problems. This info comes from a senior official of NHAI.

The ‘One Vehicle, One Fastag' initiative aims to make toll collection smoother and faster at highways. NHAI wants every vehicle to have its own Fastag, instead of one Fastag being used for multiple vehicles.

Earlier, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) told Paytm Payments Bank Ltd. (PPBL) customers to switch to other banks by March 15. But even after that date, customers can still use their accounts and Fastags without any restrictions.

However, after March 15, customers won't be able to add more money to their Paytm Fastags. Despite this, they can keep using their Fastags until the balance runs out.

Fastag has become very popular in India, with around 98% of vehicles using it. It's a system that lets you pay tolls electronically, directly from your bank account.

To update your Fastag details, visit the Indian Highway Company website and log in with your mobile number. You can check your details and upload ID proofs to complete the process.
