Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) president and firebrand Jat leader Hanuman Beniwal resigned from Lok Sabha. Beniwal, who was member of parliament from Nagaur, has been elected as MLA from Khinvsar constituency in the recently concluded Rajasthan assembly elections. He preferred to stay in state politics and thus resigned from Lok Sabha.
Beniwal is the only candidate from RLP who managed to enter the Rajasthan assembly.
Why he was recently in News?
A couple of days back Hanuman Beniwal had hit the national headlines due to his courage and bravery. He was among the first few member of parliament who got hold of intruders in the parliament. Two youth jumped from visitor gallery into the parliament and were seen rushing towards the speaker. Just then Hanuman Beniwal rushed towards them and caught one of them. He then used his all his experience as student leader and smashed the youth black and blue.
Why Beniwal's tenure will be remembered?
Hanuman Beniwal had contested 2019 Lok Sabha elections as an ally of BJP. However, he broke ties with BJP support of farmers protest against the Farm Bill.
In 2023, he contested elections without any alliance and got only one seat as against in 2018 when the party got three seats.
