Mridula Singh gets cadre-transfer to Rajasthan post marriage

Mridula Singh, a 2021 batch IFS officer has been transferred to Rajasthan from Uttar Pradesh on basis of her marriage with her batchmate Rahul Jhajhria, who is posted in Rajasthan

Mridula Singh, a 2021 batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer has been transferred from cadre to on grounds of marriage to her batchmate Rahul Jhajhria.

Mridula is an engineering graduate from IIT-Mumbai while Rahul Jhajharia is from IIT-Delhi. 

Mridula, who is the gold medallist of the course, belongs to Lucknow while Rahul is a native of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. Currently, Rahul is under awaiting posting order () after completing his training from Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), Dehradun.

Mridula Singh had always been passionate about wildlife and forest. 

“I wanted to be a zookeeper since I was a child. Getting into the forest service has given me a lifetime platform to be around wildlife and to protect them and contribute to their habitat's conservation. Like my brothers in and Australia, I too had an opportunity to do my PhD from abroad, but it was a natural calling for me to be with nature so I opted to join the forest services, and didn't even apply for civil services to be an IAS or . I have cleared forest services in the first attempt,” Mridula Singh said.

An athletics enthusiast, Rahul hails from a humble background and had finished his schooling from Sikar before getting into IIT-Delhi. He secured 22nd rank in IFS examination.
